Tour Itinerary

Pick-up

Location: Central Reykjavik

Begin your day with a convenient pick-up service from various approved locations in the capital area. Our customer service team can guide you to the nearest pick-up point from your accommodation. Once onboard, we head eastward and join Route 1, the Ring Road, which offers scenic coastal views. Be prepared for windy conditions, especially at Reynisfjara, a known wind-trap. The order of stops may vary based on daily conditions.

First Stop: Skógafoss Waterfall

Duration: 1 hour

Visit Skógafoss Waterfall, a breathtaking 60m high waterfall where the Skógá river cascades over ancient sea cliffs. The area most often creates stunning rainbows. Adventure seekers can climb 527 steps to a viewing platform and follow a trail past numerous more minor falls, marking the start of the Fimmvörðuháls trail to Thorsmörk.

Second Stop: Reynisfjara Beach

Duration: 45 minutes

Explore Reynisfjara Beach, renowned for its otherworldly beauty. It features basalt columns and the famous black sand formed by volcanic activity and oceanic forces. This site is also noted for its dangerous sneaker waves, so careful attention to the guide’s instructions is essential.

Third Stop: Vík Village

Duration: 1 hour

Stop at Vík, Iceland's southernmost mainland village. It offers spectacular views of Reynisdranger and a black sand beach. The town lies in the shadow of the Katla Volcano, which is constantly threatened by potential eruptions and subsequent floods.

Fourth Stop: Sólheimajökull Glacier

Duration: 1.5 hours

Journey to Sólheimajökull, an accessible glacier tongue extending from Mýrdalsjökull. The parking lot, previously beside the glacier, now requires a 15-minute walk due to the glacier recession. Learn about glacier dynamics, their environmental impact, and the uncertain future they face due to climate change.

Fifth Stop: Seljalandsfoss Waterfall

Duration: 1 hour

Conclude at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the falls for a unique perspective. This less powerful but equally picturesque waterfall is another stunning natural formation fed by glacial waters, marking the gateway to the Thorsmörk nature reserve.

Drop-off

Location: Central Reykjavik

After a day filled with breathtaking natural beauty, the tour concludes with a drop-off at the original pick-up location in Reykjavik.
