Meet on Location

Duration: 15 Minutes

Begin your adventure by arriving at the Silfra car park in Thingvellir National Park 15 minutes before your tour. Follow signs to “Thingvellir P5,” then make a short 400m walk to the dive and snorkel vans to meet your guide. Arriving early allows time for equipment fitting, safety instructions, and ensuring you’re fully prepared for an unforgettable dive.

Preparation and Briefing

Duration: 1 Hour

You’ll receive a dry suit, warm undersuit, and essential diving equipment upon meeting your group and guide. Your guide will give a detailed briefing covering underwater communication, diving procedures, national park rules, and optimal techniques for comfort and safety in the dry suit. This preparation time also includes assistance with gear setup and ensuring you're ready to enjoy the excursion.

Diving Silfra Fissure Tour

Duration: 30-45 Minutes

Embark on a breathtaking dive through the sections of Silfra, starting with the Deep Crack—a winding, narrow pathway showcasing the geological beauty of the fissure. Next, you’ll enter Silfra Hall, where intricate formations lead to the Silfra Cathedral, an awe-inspiring underwater expanse reaching 22 meters. Complete your dive in the serene Silfra Lagoon, where crystal-clear views offer a final moment of underwater wonder. Upon finishing, your guide will assist with removing your fins before the invigorating 300m walk back to the car park.

Warm-Up and Refreshments

Duration: 15-20 Minutes

At the Silfra car park, warm up with a well-deserved cup of hot chocolate and cookies. Reflect on the highlights of your dive, chat with your guide, and review photos captured during the experience. This is also perfect for asking questions and connecting with your guide before concluding your adventure.

  • Dry suits are worn over your clothing; we recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks as a base layer.

  • Participants over 60 need a doctor’s signed approval form to join.
  • A change of clothes and warm undergarments are recommended.

  • This event requires a minimum number of participants; if this number is not met, you will be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
